• 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease or line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just blended.
4. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheets. Flatten each cookie slightly with the palm of your hand. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
